Ministry Partners
At Black Mountain UMC, we believe in supporting the people who are trying to make our community a better place for everyone.
Here are some of the organizations we support that we think are doing exactly that.
Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry
“Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry” is a crisis ministry in Black Mountain. They have built a powerful partnership between local churches, individual volunteers, and staff to work towards meeting the needs of those experiencing hardships in our community.
Hope for Tomorrow
Hope for Tomorrow is a very special ministry of SVCM. It is a total of ten houses, built specifically to provide a home for homeless mothers and their children. Black Mountain UMC is proud to sponsor one of these houses.
Way in the Wilderness
Founded by two United Methodist ministers, Way in the Wilderness is a unique ministry focused on connecting people and building a community around the goodness of God’s creation.
Ministry of Hope
Ministry of Hope is a community-funded chaplaincy program that employs on-site chaplains at Swannanoa Correctional Center for Women in Swannanoa, NC. It gives inmates access to pastoral care and spiritual guidance.
Black Mountain Counseling Center
As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Black Mountain Counseling Center provides mental health counseling services without regard to a client’s ability to pay.
Services are provided by licensed, experienced counselors working with children, adults, seniors and families within Western North Carolina.
