At Black Mountain UMC we believe everybody has gifts to share with the church and community, and that they should be finding opportunities to use those gifts for God’s glory.
Whether your passion is cooking, ministries of justice and compassion, gardening, administration, or anything and everything in between, we want to help you serve others.
To learn about all the ways you can get involved in what’s happening at BMUMC, to talk about starting something brand new, or to connect with our ministry partners, reach out to Pastor Chandler. He would love to hear from you!
The chancel choir is the cornerstone of our church’s music ministry. They lead the congregation in song every Sunday morning during our 10:30 worship service, as well as special services throughout the year.
The only requirements to join are enthusiasm and effort! Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 6:30.
To learn more, reach out to our choir director, Nora Mosrie on our Contact Page.
Our handbell choir rings regularly during worship. They play unique and inspiring pieces from across the Christian tradition.
While the ability to read music is useful, it is not necessary. All are welcome to lead worship in this fun and creative way.
For more information, reach out to Libby Barker, our handbell choir director on our Contact Page.
United Women in Faith
United Women in Faith (UWF) seeks to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so they can inspire, influence, and impact local and global communities.
Our members put their faith, hope, and love into action to support women, children, and youth in communities close to home and around the world.
Through Mission Giving, education, and a commitment to justice, United Women in Faith works to bring God’s vision to the world.
Black Mountain UMC has a very active UWF unit with two Circle groups meeting once a month.
Rachel Circle meets on the first Thursday of every month at 2:00 pm either at the church or a member’s home.
Sarah Circle meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 2:00 pm either at church or a member’s home.
